YOU! Individuals, families,students, scouts, and businesses who enjoy and are committed to our Park.

A non-profit, charitable organization dedicated to supporting Shawnee State Park and its surrounding communities by including fund raising, volunteer management, membership support and local business involvement.

To assist in providing recreational and educational opportunities for current and future generations.

Planned Projects

Water treatment Still working on a plan with the Park. Currently looking at 2 bio-degradable islands to place in the lake.

Planned Events

Cruise into Shawnee Street Survivors from Johnstown would like to invite you to see their classic car parade and park. 1pm to 4pm Saturday May 26. (Rain date June 2)

Mt Bike Seminar June 9 9am to 12pm. Mechanics available and ride leaders to take you for a ride at the Park.

Dog Rescue Demonstration Come see the New Foundlands demonstrate rescues. July 1st time not available at this time.

FEATURED PERSON

Dorothy Krupa

Current Blue Knob / Shawnee State Park Land Manager

Originally from Philipsburg, PA, she is transferring from Presque Isle State Park, Erie, PA as an Assistant Manager for 10 years.

She accepted this position as a promotion, bringing her closer to home and the State Parks attractions. She is already familiar with the area and Parks, because she had completed her manager training here many years ago.

Her goals are to focus on working with both Parks, knowing that both Parks are different in attractions and the work methods, but stated she has anticipated that and is ready to work with the Staff and community.

She is already proving to the Friends of Shawnee her strong work ethics, by showing up at our meeting after only working at the Parks for less than a week. We are excited to have her join our community and hope when you stop in Shawnee give her a big Welcome!!

Welcome Dorothy, we look forward to working with you.
